Overview
The Nordlys® platform is a multi-application skin treatment system combining Selective Waveband Technology (SWT) intense pulsed light (IPL), two non-ablative fractional lasers (1550 nm and 1940 nm), and an Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser. It is designed to treat pigmentation, vascularity, skin resurfacing, and hair removal. The Nordlys Mini is a stand-alone non-ablative fractional laser device that includes the 1550 nm and 1940 nm applicators for skin resurfacing and benign pigmented lesions.

Technology

• SWT® IPL: Narrowband IPL using dual light filters and sub-millisecond pulses for vascular treatments, photorejuvenation and hair removal.
• 1550 nm: Non-ablative fractional laser for deeper skin resurfacing; includes SoftCool™ for patient comfort. Also available on Nordlys Mini.
• 1940 nm: Non-ablative fractional laser for epidermal/shallow resurfacing and treatment of benign pigmented lesions (reaches epidermis and superficial dermis ~ up to 200 μm). Also available on Nordlys Mini.
• Nd:YAG 1064 nm: Powerful laser for vascular lesions (leg veins, port-wine stains), onychomycosis (clear nail) and warts.

How it works
The system emits precise light or laser pulses absorbed selectively by target chromophores (melanin for hair, hemoglobin for vascular lesions). Absorption converts light to heat to coagulate or destroy target tissue while sparing surrounding skin.

Nordlys Applicators

• SWT IPL applicators: Light + water filtration, narrowband IPL removing wavelengths above 950 nm for safer targeted treatments.
• 1550 nm applicator: Deeper non-ablative fractional resurfacing.
• 1940 nm applicator: Epidermal fractional resurfacing and benign pigment lesion treatment.
